Cross between a singing, ukulele-playing mermaid and your everyday vampire, Merpire is the sound that singer/song-writer, Rhiannon has given life to. In 2012, Merpire released a self-titled, 7 track EP. From the word go, she lures you in with haunting vocal melodies and harmonies, taking you on a journey to the life and love of a self-admitted wannabe Merpire. Too easy to relate to, you’ll find yourself lost in the ebb and flow of what Merpire has to offer in the way of heart ache, the idea of love, death and views of humans. You can find Merpire EP on Itunes, Spotify, Soundcloud, Amazon and Reverbnation.

Merpire has also written and released a song called Smilke Like Drake. This song holds a special sentiment as it was written for a friend who tragically passed away last year. From this tragedy, an amazing foundation was launched to raise awareness for water safety, The Smile Like Drake Foundation. This song can be downloaded from the foundation website by making a small donation.

Merpire is now in the process of recording a 4-track ukulele EP that you’ll be able to hear around September so keep your ears out!

Peña Flamenca is Sydney's hottest Flamenco Nuevo ensemble creating a unique fiesta with their locally-fused interpretation of Spanish and Latin traditions. Captivating audiences around Australia with original compositions, choreography and flamenco frenzied dance floors, Peña Flamenca draw from an intensely diverse mix of musicians from Jazz to Funk, and Classical to Latin; merging to form a distinctive and compelling sound.

Following a successful 18 month residency of weekly performances at Sydney’s Spanish Club, the group discovered a shared drive for creating flamenco frenzied dance floors and have amazed audiences around Sydney at venues including The Basement, The Vanguard, Darling Harbour Latin Fiesta, Camelot Lounge, and cruise events on Sydney Harbour.

Led by flamenco guitarist Christopher Duff the group includes Angela Rosero (voice), Chachy Peñalver (dance), Zoe Velez (voice and dance), Byron Mark (percussion), Tom Burns Brown (bass) Keyna Wilkins (flute), and Trevor Brown (saxophones). Many of the members have studied in Spain and with some of the best teachers in Australia, and together they released a self-titled EP in 2012, with a new album to be released at the end of 2014.

The multitude of musical backgrounds of the group and culmination of relaxed attitudes breathes some fresh air into the world of Flamenco; Peña combine to make a unique Australian fiesta.

From humble beginnings in a shed atop an isolated outcrop, to gracing the stages of Australia’s biggest festivals, the phenomenon of the Round Mountain Girls has etched itself into the ‘strange but true’ annals of Australian music.

They’ve carved out a reputation as one of the country’s most thrilling live acts, with their infectious, catchy songs and alternative Celtic-country blend of roots music.

Arguably one of  the nation’s best underground live acts, Round Mountain Girls bring their high-energy stage presence, humour and acclaimed musicianship to the Fig concert program with a sensational repertoire of lush, beautiful songs full of depth and power, and a rollicking, rock-your-socks-off truck load of fun.
