Aaron Lyon is a soulful Blues balladeer whose craft has been forged by the Blues of Life, Love and Loss, at no expense to his roguish charm. Armed with a guitar and an unusually athletic voice, he evokes handsome imagery through his melodic storytelling. His showcase of original compositions straddles a variety of stylistic influences ensuring that you always get more than the 12 bars you bargained for.

Currently resting his head in Sydney, Aaron has played the city’s premier venues including The Vanguard, The Basement, The Victoria Room, The Piano Room, The Supper Club, The Beach Road Hotel, The Arthouse Hotel, The Heritage Hotel and The Bucket Room (Bondi) as well as holding residence at fine dining establishments Tony Bilson’s Number One Wine Bar and Bistro, Liquidity (Balmain) and Manly’s Artichoke Café.

His credits also include playing support for notable Australian musicians Deisel, Iota and New Zealand’s Jenny Morris. His recent supports have included performances for Leonard Cohen and Michael Buble at the Acer Arena and VIP Entertainment for Powderfinger’s concerts at the Sydney Entertainment Centre.

Making a name for himself as a solo artist back in the late eighties and nineties, Steve mixes his highly tuned gift as communicator, guitarist and vocalist, with an extraordinary sense of humour. Musically he is eclectic in style, but specializes in blues and gospel.

Over the 40 years of his career he has played with some of the best. He first took to the stage in Butler, sharing the stage with such luminaries as Daddy Cool, Black Sabbath and Average White Band, at Festivals and other venues across New Zealand. He then joined gospel band Judah, when his life took on a new direction, leaving secular music behind and concentrating on the Gospel scene for a time. Later he started up sixties spoof rock band "The Velvettes", and finally toured solo, taking the family with him when he could. In more recent years he has formed a duo with wife Ainsley, to bring a new side to his unique gift. Together they captivate audiences in a way that very few can.

Ainsley began her career as a musician alongside Steve back in 2001 when she released her first album, Autumn. She has since gone on to record Cappuccinos and Vanilla Squares, and performs on guitar whistle and flute alongside Steve on each of their tours.

Their mission is to bring encouragement and hope to people in all walks of life through the message of the gospel; to share their songs and their stories of the triumphs and struggles they meet as they travel the world. All gigs will appear on our facebook page as they get closer (Steve and Ainsley Apirana)

The blues is about time and feeling and that's what you hear whenever Bridie King runs, pumps, stamps, strokes and rolls her hands across the piano keys. There are some terrific boogie woogie pianists in this country but none better than Sydney's Bridie King.

Bridie shows this everytime she brings the house down whether she's a playing a pub gig in the Inner West, or on a festival stage. After nearly two decades of playing in blues bands, she came to national prominence at festivals and with airplay on ABC radio when she released her first CD, My Blues, with her band the Boogie Kings in 1999.

Bridie has been a driving force on the Sydney blues scene for the past 4 decades – as a performer, band leader and tutor to some of Sydney's prodigious keyboard talent. Her albums reflect a great roots music talent at work and a vast knowledge of the stylistic subtleties of the blues, her piano creates an inspiring foundation for a class performance.

Throughout her career Bridie has always adopted a philosophy of playing the music that she really loves, something that is wholeheartedly reflected in her every performance. Expect some of the great r'n'b floorshakers from the 40s and 50s

Bridie was invited as special guest to play with Blues guitar legend Albert Collins. He said of Bridie - "You can play and you cute too".
"You're really serious, ma’m’" - Jimmy Vaughan (Steve Ray Vaughan).
"Nothing beat the Blues and Boogie of Bridie King" - The Australian.
"A driving force in the Sydney blues scene for 3 decades" - FM Magazine
