Taniela grew up in Tonga and moved to Australia at 15. His love for singing was ignited by the inspiration and encouragement of his grandmother. She would take him to church choir rehearsals in Tonga and encouraged his singing from a young age.
Taniela’s love for music turned from hobby to dream career when he was selected as a feature artist for the 2015 School’s Spectacular which was broadcast live to millions on national TV's channel 9. To receive such a fantastic opportunity with no history of musical training was an honour and a great encouragement. Taniela went on to win scholarships at performance colleges and is now part of the NSW Art’s Unit. He will be accompanied by Fig favourite Zoe Elliot, on guitar and backing vocals. |
