Armed with her electric guitar and unique cigarbox instruments, internationally acclaimed blueswoman Fiona Boyes presents songs and stories from her latest #1 Australian Blues Radio charting album 'Voodoo in the Shadows'
USA reviewers have credited Fiona Boyes as 'Bonnie Raitt's evil twin'! She is a distinctive blues guitarist, vocalist and songwriter and is the only Australian roots artist to ever be recognised in the America Blues Foundation (Memphis) 'Blues Music Awards', with 8 nominations - including 2019 'Traditional Female Blues Artist' of the Year'. Fiona's music draws on a myriad of traditional styles, taking her audience on a 'virtual Deep South road trip'. "...one of the world's best fingerpicking blues guitarists...her versatility means she's impossible to categorise: she'll jump from Louisiana swamp blues to driving Chicago sounds, rollicking New Orleans barrelhouse to wailing laments, and back again, in a 30-minute set." - The Guardian, Australia |
